We offer our Inclusive STEM Teaching course participants a blended learning opportunity through facilitated virtual learning communities. Synchronous dialogue spaces are encouraged as part of the course experience to facilitate participants’ reflection and idea generation, help participants contextualize our content within their local institution and teaching environment, and ensure that participants experience productive discomfort and personal growth throughout their course experience rather than directed or unintended harm.
Facilitator Opportunity
We are seeking teams of 2-3 applicants from each institution who will facilitate local learning communities at their institution. Applicant teams selected for the training will commit to participating in a day long session on the Charles River campus of Boston University on Tuesday, May 28 from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm EST.
We emphasize team facilitation to encourage institutions to develop shared capacity for engaging in dialogues related to diversity, equity, and inclusion, as well as to create a local support network for facilitators that participate in our project.

The current process for joining our facilitator community is as follows:
- Apply as a team via our website form at the bottom of this page (form will appear when open);
- The application deadline is April 15, 2024;
- Receive notification of acceptance 2 weeks after the application deadline;
- Participate in the online course either through enrolling in the next available course offering or accessing an archived course (to experience the course as a learner and get familiar with the content);
- Attend our required facilitator training in Boston on May 28, 2024;
- Facilitate your learning community during a future online course offering once trained.
